Remember when Heihachi died in Tekken 7 and then his death was referenced throughout Tekken 8's story mode? Yeah, well, he's coming back as DLC! Bet you didn't see that one coming.
Heihachi's penned in for fall / autumn 2024, and he'll also play a key role in the game's story mode expansion. The franchise figurehead somehow looks even more crazed than ever before, and we're looking forward to seeing how he plays.

He's apparently Harada's personal favourite character, and he claims to have not realised that they truly "killed" him off, so I'm not entirely surprised.
Of course he survived. Lava? More like relaxing hot spring. Mishimas are super human. 😂
I had a feeling he wouldn't stay gone, he's one of the titular characters in the series
@Deadlyblack If he was a titular character in Tekken, he'd be called Tekken (or the series would be called Heihachi - which it might as well be at this point.)
@Nem I think the trailer suggested he didn't survive but death kinda didn't stick either
At this point, Tekken wouldn’t be the same without him! Really hyped by the reveal! Tekken 8 has become my most played game in the series, just so awesome!
He was also reported dead in Tekken 5 😄
I get it he's an iconic character and Tekken feels different without him, just like SF feels different without Bison or Akuma.
But this makes Tekken 7 final battle between Kazuya vs Heihachi kinda irrelevant which I actually really like that battle because it was hype and finally an important character is dead.
Just another Tuesday for Heihachi
As expected, super gramps will never die despite what the nah-sayers believe.🤣
I'm surprised that people are surprised tbh.
See? I knew Kazuya can’t be a bad guy. He was just giving his pops a simple lava bath. Misunderstood fella if I ever seen one.
@2here2there yeah Robert joked about it in the subhead
@PuppetMaster “Heihachi is COMPLETELY dead”

I'm so sick and tired of fighting games inability to commit to anything 😑
@Yousef- Harada is a big liar huh
Heihachi had more comebacks than Donald Trump
Always hoped that his haircut would catch on amongst bald men, but alas the age of the Heihachi-do is not yet upon us.
He's dead unless you can afford to revive him.
I remember the good old days when i didn't have to buy dlc to play as heihachi
ok so this is what, third time Heihachi came back from the dead if I'm counting correctly. supposedly he died in 2,4 and 7.
Minimum spec for purchase met.
@PuppetMaster Harada-san could’ve been trolling, but I think the real point are fans who started wild theories that heihachi was dead because of the VA passing away (he’s the VA of Satan in DBZ and Joseph Joestar too). So many theories like this get quickly debunked, makes me wonder how much people actually know about the VA industry and this isn’t the first bizarre theory from tekken fans. Harada-san may be joking but fans don’t so heihachi’s return is very vindictive of how silly tekken theorists are sometimes.
@Yousef- He could be trolling but what i read is Heihachi is Harada fav character but he doesn't know that Tekken devs and marketing team really geared up Tekken 7 as Heihachi final appearance like completely dead and not trolling dead like they did with Tekken 5.
And yeah, Heihachi VA passed away also made many people believe that there will be no Heihachi for Tekken 8.
I personally feels Heihachi revival makes the story back to zero again. Well not really zero but it feels like what's the point of hyping up Tekken 7 as Kazuya vs Heihachi final battle then revived Heihachi in Tekken 8 like Tekken 7 some kind of filler arc lol.
Heihachi, just like Bison, is a classic character and, personally, I'm glad he's back. However, the way both Capcom and Namco acted, it's funny watching them get roasted. Don't tease stuff if you don't have the stones to follow through with at least one entry in a series that will obviously get more sequels.
